Peter Graves joins the series in this second season, as it takes the form that most of us remember, with his character, Jim Phelps, getting instruction from a tape recording that gives him instructions ... should he choose to accept them. Barbara Bain, Martin Landau, Greg Morris and Peter Lupus are all here; guests include Darren McGavin, Brock Peters, Edmond O'Brien.

"CHiPS: The Complete First Season" (Warner, 1977-78, six discs, $39.98). Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox star as California Highway Patrol officers. Edward James Olmos (who would soon co-star on "Miami Vice") guests in one episode, and in another, Oscar-winner Broderick Crawford shows up (he starred in the 1950s series "Highway Patrol").

"The Fall Guy: Season One" (Fox, 1981-82, six discs, $29.98). Lee Majors stars as a stunt man/bounty hunter in this adventure series. James Coburn, Tom Selleck, Farrah Fawcett (divorced from Majors at the time) and Milton Berle appear as guests.

"Hogan's Heroes: The Sixth & Final Season" (CBS/Paramount, 1970-71, four discs, $42.99). The silly sitcom about allied POWs and their German captors at last comes to an end. It really ran six seasons?

"Rescue Me: The Complete Third Season" (Sony, 2006, four discs, $49.95). Emmy-nominee Denis Leary (both as actor and writer) is first-rate in this dark comic FX series about a womanizing firefighter dealing with family tragedies.

"Seinfeld: Season 8" (Sony, 1996-97, four discs, $49.95). The series' penultimate season includes "The English Patient" and "The Yada Yada," as well as guest stars Debra Messing, Janeane Garofalo, David Letterman, Lauren Graham, Amanda Peet, Raquel Welch, Lloyd Bridges, Robert Wagner and Jill St. John, etc.
