In an "My View" (May 31) Rachel Ringwood indicated that the chairman of the State Board of Education, Kim Burningham, was presented with 4,000 requests for voucher applications on which he has not acted.
Perhaps this is because Mr. Burningham was also presented with more than 130,000 signatures of individuals opposed to public school funds being used for private school funding.
Ms. Ringwood also stated that these 4,000 requests represented "real" children. I would suggest that the 130,000 signatures also represent "real" children whose parents also want a good education for their children. It's 4,000 vs. 130,000. Do the math. Mr. Burningham is representing the schoolchildren of Utah.
