HERRIMAN The Herriman Library will open its doors at its new but still temporary location at 10 a.m. today.
The library, which was previously housed in the basement of Herriman City Hall, has been relocated to Herriman Plaza, 13198 S. 5600 West. The strip-mall location is larger and more accessible to the public than the previous site, said Leslie Schow, library manager.
"It's very nice," Schow said of the roughly 4,000-square-foot location.
The library is expected to remain at Herriman Plaza for about three years, until its permanent home is built, she said.
The Salt Lake County Library plans to build four new branches over the next three years, and one of those is slated for Herriman. When and where the Herriman library will be built has not been determined, Schow said.
