Mediconnect is med records hub
On her computer is a note: "Do what is right; let the consequence follow." She keeps statues and pictures of Wonder Woman (her nickname) to remind her that she can do anything if she keeps trying. And she likes to repeat a saying of her grandfather's: Get up, do something, do anything just make a start and keep moving forward.
But Rees Lewis doesn't just look at her slogans. She has used them to help her build a worldwide medical records retrieval company, South Jordan-based Mediconnect Global.
Mediconnect Global was formed last June to merge two companies, software provider MediConnect.net, which Rees Lewis led at the time, and Globerian Inc., an India-based medical outsourcing company Rees Lewis owned with a partner.
The company also acquired competitor Zerop Medical to form a firm that can use an educated, medically trained India work force to gather and host medical records in a universal format.
This information can be retrieved, digitized, stored and coded into a database that also can be used for research and drug studies.
Rees Lewis juggles her responsibilities at Mediconnect with a variety of philanthropic and business activities, as well as being a single mother to two children.
