The Humane Society of Utah will hold a three-day adopt-a-thon beginning Friday at its animal shelter, 4242 S. 300 West.
About 200 pets dogs, cats, bunnies, gerbils and other animals will be available for adoption during the event, both inside the facility and in a tent set up on the lawn.
The event will run from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
At the same location and times, a "Paws fur Spring" gala will feature local pet-specialty vendors who offer boarding, grooming and toys. A pet psychic and a professional pet masseuse also will be available to provide helpful hints and instructions for new pet owners.
