Humane Society plans a 3-day adopt-a-thon

The Humane Society of Utah will hold a three-day adopt-a-thon beginning Friday at its animal shelter, 4242 S. 300 West.

About 200 pets — dogs, cats, bunnies, gerbils and other animals — will be available for adoption during the event, both inside the facility and in a tent set up on the lawn.

The event will run from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

At the same location and times, a "Paws fur Spring" gala will feature local pet-specialty vendors who offer boarding, grooming and toys. A pet psychic and a professional pet masseuse also will be available to provide helpful hints and instructions for new pet owners.
