I'm all for saving energy and buying efficient and long-lasting light bulbs. I have even replaced some of my bulbs with the new CFL units. Now I learn that they are just as toxic as the old fluorescent bulbs (we were told never to touch them when they break or to not breathe the fumes).
Nobody seems to be talking about what to do with them when they do burn out or break. Are we just going from one problem to the next? I have some regular incandescent bulbs in my house that are almost 16 years old.
