Catching up on the Jazz and the rest of the sports world ...
Who'd have ever believed that the Jazz would lay a 26-point thumping on the mighty Spurs Saturday night? Especially after trailing throughout the first 30 minutes of the game. Over the last 18 minutes of the game, the Jazz outscored the Spurs by an unbelievable 50-23 ...
As for Jazz point guard Deron Williams, all I can say is "wow." His play in the San Antonio series has been nothing short of phenomenal. In three games he is averaging 30.3 points and 9.0 assists per game on 54 percent shooting. Now what was the name of that Wake Forest point guard everyone thought the Jazz should have drafted? ...
Jazz fans shouldn't get overconfident over Saturday's margin of victory. It obviously helped having Tim Duncan on the bench in foul trouble for much of the game. If he can get his usual 40 minutes tonight, it will make a huge difference for the Spurs ...

However, it is kind of interesting to watch the cameras slide along the wire when you watch the game live ...
You had to feel a little sorry for Danny Ainge and the Celtics, not to mention Jerry West and the Grizzlies, after both got the worst draws possible for their teams at last week's NBA Draft. But the outcome of this year's lottery shows why there is a lottery in the first place. Not to say either Boston or Memphis were tanking games, but for teams that might try that, it proves you just might be better off with the sixth-worst record in order to get a possible franchise player ...
