1776, the stirring and suspenseful 1969 musical about the creation and eventual signing of the Declaration of Independence, will play Friday through June 30 in the Rodgers Memorial Theatre, 292 E. Pages Lane, Centerville.
Directed by J.D. Madsen and choreographed by Kim Madsen, the double-cast ensemble includes Dave Petersen and Craig H. Bowen as John Adams, Dave Hill and Steve Davis as Ben Franklin, Benjamin Christian Plowman and Michael Jensen as Thomas Jefferson, Brian Hahn and David J. Madsen as Richard Henry Lee, Laurel Aposhian Warr and Anne L. Crowe as Abigail Adams and Sharon Kibbie and Britany Dean as Martha Jefferson.
Performances are Mondays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $13-$16 for adults, $12-$14 for students and senior citizens and $9 for children (298-1302 or www.RodgersMemorial.com).
THE PAJAMA GAME, an energetic musical about union strife in a pajama factory, will play Friday through June 23 in the Heritage Theatre, 2505 S. Highway 89, Perry.
Director Robin Westover's cast includes Kali Garner as Babe, feisty leader of the union grievance committee, and Michael Cram as Sid, newly hired superintendent who is called in to settle the worker-management conflict.
Performances are Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. on June 9 and 23. All seats are reserved. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for children and senior citizens and $35 for a Monday "family night" pass admitting up to six family members (435-723-8392 or www.HeritageTheatreUtah.com).
YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, a family musical revolving around one day in the lives of several "Peanuts" characters, opens this week in Brigham Young University's Pardoe Theatre, located in the Harris Fine Arts Center.
Directed by George Nelson, the cast includes Tyler Wright in the title role, Makenna Garner as Lucy, Megan Moffat as Sally, Brandon Roach as Linus, Kevin Jordan as Schroeder and Hank Florence as Snoopy.
Discounted dress rehearsals will be Wednesday and Thursday of this week, with all seats priced at $6. The production's matinees at 2 p.m. on June 7, 9, 14 and 16 are also $6. Those attending the matinees are also invited to join the cast and crew for a free lunch, backstage tour and other activities (early registration is recommended at www.performances.byu.edu). The "Lunch 'n' Learn" activities begin at 12:30 p.m. in the north lobby of the Pardoe Theatre.
