And according to a statement from the Madeleine Arts and Humanities Program, "Much of the company's success can be attributed to the tenacity and absolute dedication of Fred Adams, who believed in both its mission and the total support that Cedar City and, indeed, the rest of Utah would provide.

"His visionary insight and tireless efforts over many years in support of the arts and humanities in Utah make Adams an ideal choice for this year's award."

The award presentation on June 3 marks the culmination of a seven-week series of concerts and arts presentations sponsored by the Cathedral of the Madeleine.

The Madeleine Festival was founded in 1988 to revitalize the traditional role of Catholic cathedrals in the cultural life of their communities.
