ST. GEORGE — A Dixie man was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a car on the St. George Boulevard.

Police said a motorcycle was weaving in and out of traffic and speeding at about 3 p.m. Wednesday near 400 West and St. George Boulevard. The bike quickly caught up to a car ahead of it, police said.

"He was going faster than her. He caught up to her as she made her lane change and his front wheel contacted her right rear wheel," St. George Police Sgt. Craig Harding said Thursday.

Douglas E. Scholes, 47, of Hurricane, was killed. Police said he was not wearing a helmet. Police said they are still investigating the crash.
