OGDEN A new president has been named for the Utah College of Applied Technology's Ogden-Weber campus.
Collete R. Mercier, who has served at the college since 1984 and has been vice president for instructional services for the past 13 years, will assume the position May 30 when current president C. Brent Wallis retires, officials announced Wednesday.
"We have many challenges ahead of us as we work with our local employers to meet their demand for a skilled work force," Mercier said. "But challenges bring tremendous opportunities as well."
The Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College is one of nine regional centers comprising UCAT. UCAT is one of 10 public institutions in the Utah System of Higher Education.
