The American Diabetes Association is sponsoring its annual Tour de Cure on June 9. The two-day tour will again have former Tour de France champion Greg LeMond along for the ride.

Cyclists roll out from Box Elder High School in Brigham City for either a 25, 60 or 100 mile ride through the area to the site of the Golden Spike monument.

Volunteers are, as usual, needed to help prepare lunches, staff rest areas and provide other support. Contact Jeanette at 888-342-2383, ext. 7073, to volunteer.

After that, there is the Harmon's MS 150, also held in Cache County and benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Society. This tour, held on June 23 and 24 with rides of varying lengths and difficulties.

Contact the Utah MS office at 424-0113 for more information.

Riders raising funds to support the charities are eligible to win valuable prize packages.

RIDE OF THE WEEK: If being part of a massive group isn't exactly your thing and you'd prefer a quiet ride of 100 miles, join members of the BBTC for a Memorial Day 100 miler — or less if you want to get home for the lunch barbecue — from West Point Park at 1100 North in Rose Park and head north to Antelope Island. Call John McCool for more information at 220-0677. Bikes roll at 9 a.m., and you'll need $4 to get onto the island.
