WRAPPING IT UP EARLY: Following Sunday's Game 1, the Spurs are now 3-0 in home games against the Utah Jazz this year. The second quarter has been the difference in each game.

Prior to Sunday, in which San Antonio outscored Utah 31-16 in the second quarter, in the teams' two regular season meetings at the AT&T Center the Spurs outscored the Jazz 29-19 and 35-21 respectively.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: Tonight's NBA Draft Lottery marks the 11-year anniversary that the San Antonio Spurs pulled off a major coup and won the lottery, a No. 1 pick they used to draft Tim Duncan.

The former Wake Forest all-American has led San Antonio to three NBA titles, while the second player taken in that draft, Utah's Keith Van Horn, is now out of the league.

Asked about how that helped turn the franchise around, Popovich said, "I'd be coaching a third-grade team somewhere in America."

A QUICK SHOOTAROUND: Even though the Spurs players were officially given the day off, Robert Horry and Jacque Vaughn each went through about an hour's worth of shooting drills at the team's training center on Monday.

In Game 1, the players combined for 26 minutes and 0-of-2 shooting from the field.
