In other newspapers...

"Don't feel too bad for the Utah Jazz. It had a nice season. No one came out and uttered those words Sunday. It didn't matter. You could see it in the way the Jazz played. Utah was happy to be in the Western Conference Finals but in no way prepared for the intensity required to compete." — David Moore, Dallas Morning News

"When Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker all play well on the same night, there is little chance any team has of defeating the San Antonio Spurs." — David Dupree, USA Today

What 2nd quarter?

Down only three points, 23-20, the Jazz were in contention when the second quarter started. But when the quarter ended, the Jazz were down 54-36. Playing the second half 10 points better than the Spurs was good, but not as good as the second quarter was bad: The Jazz essentially were lapped, getting outscored 31-16, and only Deron Williams made more than one shot — from the field or the line — for the Jazz in that quarter.
