Summary

ALMOST 60 YEARS AGO — This is the Place Monument, at the mouth of Emigration Canyon, was almost completed, above. On July 19, 1947, portions of the monument were still cloaked, awaiting a ceremony on Pioneer Day. Finishing touches were also being rushed.
