OREM — Fans of Greg Park, take heart. You no longer have to wonder what is going to happen next to Jase Fairimor.

(He's learning to control his powers, and he's part of the great effort to heal the Earthsoul by undertaking a dangerous journey to find a valuable talisman before the dark enemy claims it.)

Greg Park, author and teacher, has finished the second of five novels — "Cleansing Hunt" will be released nationwide Monday — and is well into the others.

"I have the next three outlined, so I'm confident they'll be written," said Park.

Park is a creative writing and science fiction literature teacher at Timpanogos High School who believes in practicing what he preaches.

So he's taken on the task of writing a series of fantasy adventure novels that critics like the editors of Writer's Digest say rival books like J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings."

The Library Journal review said his series presents a unique look at magic and divinity set in a "richly detailed and varied world."

The world of the allied nations of the Nine Lands is threatened by evil and darkness, and it's up to those with gifts of vision and power to save the Earth's soul and their lives.

The characters are rich, and the story is wonderfully told. The bad guys are truly evil, deliciously dark.

Park has the ability to weave a tale that's complex without muddling the action.

Jase and his mentors and his family and friends become real, and it's easy to care about him as he struggles with powers of Ta'shaen that can destroy as easily as they can heal hurt and stop evil.

It's a story of everyday life, of war and of conflict that spans 6,000 years of history.

Park said no one needs worry about him finishing the series.

He loves the storytelling and the art of crafting his tale, and his children are on his heels about the next chapters.

"I have summers off," he said. "So I can find the time to write."
