The masked thieves move quickly through the store, grabbing boxes of brand new Apple laptops, iPods, software and hardware.

Roger Smith could only watch the video replay captured by a surveillance camera inside the ExperCom store he owns in Murray. Thieves moved back and forth with pricey computer equipment in their arms.

"There's nothing more frustrating than actually having someone break into your store," he told the Deseret Morning News. "You feel violated. It makes you sick to your stomach."

Murray police said two people broke into the Apple computer shop at 256 E. 6400 South just before 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Smith said it was a pretty professional burglary.

"Two guys removed the glass and got in without breaking it," he said. "They got in without setting off the alarm."

The alarm was rigged to go off if the glass was ever shattered. The thieves had apparently figured out a way around it. The break-in was discovered when employees showed up for work Friday morning.

"It was not immediately evident the window had been taken out," Smith said. "They got in and saw the shelves were empty and called the police."

Murray police detective Kenny Bass said detectives will be trying to drum up some leads.

"We'll look at the information, the property that was taken and we'll investigate it," he said. "We'll follow leads that develop."

The surveillance video shows the thieves took care to hide their identities, covering their faces and most of their bodies. However, one of the thieves wore bright blue sneakers that show up on tape.

Smith estimates the lost merchandise at more than $26,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call Murray Police at 801-840-4000.
