AMERICAN FORK One of Utah's most beautiful caves will reopen for public visits Saturday.
Timpanogos Cave National Monument, a 250-acre National Park Service site located in the Wasatch Mountains near American Fork, will remain open seven days a week through summer and early fall.
Tickets go on sale daily at 7:30 a.m. at the visitor center. Ticket sales end at 4:30 p.m. each day.
Besides purchasing tickets on site, cave fans may obtain tickets up to 30 days in advance by calling the visitor center at 801-756-5238. Visitors should bring water and wear a sweater, as the cave's temperature is a steady 45 degrees.
"As American Fork Canyon starts its spring bloom, we are getting ready for another great season at Timpanogos Cave," Dennis Davis, the monument's superintendent, said in a press release. "This season we will again offer many programs for visitors' enjoyment."
The summer Ranger Evening Program series starts May 25 at the visitor center. In past years, program highlights have included the history of American Fork, snakes and reptiles, and campfire songs.
