Salt Lake City plans to help the People's Market expand its venue and to advertise along the Wasatch Front.

The weekly market, now in its second year, allows community members to sell their own produce and goods. Not-for-profit businesses and Local First Utah businesses are also invited to participate. The market will begin June 10 and continue every Sunday through Oct. 21 at Jordan Park, 1060 S. 900 West in Salt Lake City, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Downtown Farmers Market, a similar event that has been held at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City for 14 years, will also be under way every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning June 9 and lasting through Oct. 20.

The People's Market vendors will sell fresh garden produce, arts and handicrafts and prepared food. Vendor fees range from $15 to $25.

Vendors who sign up for 10 weeks are eligible for a 25 percent discount. Those who sign up for 20 weeks qualify for a 50 percent discount. Vendors 17 years of age and younger will be charged only $1 per market day.
