Three-year-old Garrett Nelson joins with other volunteers to plant trees at Lindon's new Pheasant Grove Park to mark Arbor Day on a chilly, wet Saturday. Communities throughout the state planted trees. In West Valley City, volunteers helped parks crews do some planting. TreeUtah laid down roots in several locations around the Salt Lake Valley, including native riparian trees along the Jordan River. Arbor Day was founded nationwide in the 1800s.
