BOUNTIFUL Scores of teens and adults from several churches will throw on their grubbies today and tear off the roof of the youth room at Grace Lutheran Church in Bountiful.
The youth room is getting a new roof, paint, landscaping and a general overhaul as part of Join Hands Day, an event sponsored by the Davis County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Thrivent is paying for materials, food and beverages for the event. A worship band will provide entertainment in the parking lot during the afternoon.
The event involves members from four Lutheran congregations, Grace Baptist Church, Bountiful Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, the WAY Wasatch Area Youth, a youth group for several Bountiful churches, and the Davis County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
Work will be done at the church, 835 N. Main, from 8 a.m. until dark.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is the nation's largest fraternal benefit society and offers life insurance and other financial products to its members. The not-for-profit organization provides hundreds of millions of dollars annually to support outreach programs for building better communities.
