PROVO Utah Valley's National Day of Prayer observance will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the Provo Tabernacle, 100 S. University Ave.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak.
Elder Holland, who was named to his current position in 1994, is a former president of Brigham Young University and was awarded the "Torch of Liberty" award by the Anti-Defamation League of B'Nai B'rith, for his work in improving understanding between Christians and Jews.
Provo's National Day of Prayer observance will include representatives from the Jewish, Muslim, Episcopalian, Seventh-day Adventist, Christ Evangelical, and LDS faiths. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission will only be through the east doors. Parking is available in the NuSkin Parking Terrace to the west of the tabernacle. The event is free and open to the public.
