Nominee for judgeship
"Darold brings a well-rounded perspective to the bench, with experience in prosecuting civil and criminal cases in juvenile, district, tribal and appellate courts," Huntsman said. "Additionally, his time as a small-claims court judge for more than three years will serve as a tremendous foundation for Darold's service as a 4th District judge."
McDade currently works in the Utah Attorney General's Office as a section chief in the Child and Family Support Division and is serving a second term on the Pleasant Grove City Council.
Before working in the AG's office, he was a sole practitioner in Utah County. McDade has memberships in the Utah Bar Association, Nevada Indian Bar Association and Navajo Nation Bar Association.
"I'm very excited and looking forward to doing all that is necessary to be the best possible judge. I believe that the support and the training I've received have led me down this path, to something I've always wanted to do," McDade said. "I sincerely appreciate the confidence given to me by Gov. Huntsman. My goal would be to always listen, be prepared and make the best judgment I can based on the facts and the law while giving everyone fair treatment."
McDade earned a bachelor's degree in political science and his juris doctorate at Brigham Young University.
