PALO ALTO, Calif. Weber State's Lindsey Anderson, a Morgan native, set an NCAA record Sunday in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with the time of 9 minutes, 39.95 seconds at the Payton Jordan Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif.
She broke the old mark by more than three seconds.
Anderson, who has set three Weber State school records during the 2007 season, has already qualified for the NCAA Championships in the steeplechase and the 10,000 meters.
She won Sunday's race by more than 17 seconds and set a Stanford Stadium record in the process. She beat the next collegiate finisher by nearly 33 seconds. Her time is the best in the country this year by more than 16 seconds.
