Salt Lake City Mayor will tout the city's pedestrian safety initiatives this week on the Dish Network's Universityhouse Channel.

Anderson will speak with John Z Wetmore, host of the "Perils For Pedestrians" television series, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

"Anderson has made pedestrian safety a central part of his transportation policy for the city," a Universityhouse Channel press release says. "Innovations such as orange crosswalk flags and pedestrian countdown signals initially met with skepticism but have since been embraced by the public."

Salt Lake City was named the most improved city for pedestrian safety by the Surface Transportation Policy Project.

The Universityhouse Channel is Channel 9411 on the Dish Network. The episode will also be viewable after it airs at video.google.com.
