OREM Utah Valley State College students chose J. Karl Worthington, associate vice president of academic affairs and interim vice president of academic affairs, to receive the Wolverine Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award is given to a member of the faculty, staff or administration who has excelled professionally and displayed leadership skills at UVSC.
Worthington, a native of Payson, earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business education from Utah State University and a doctorate in business education from the University of Iowa. He worked for the University of Iowa, Ball State University in Indiana, Bowling Green State University in Ohio and Northern Arizona University before coming to UVSC in 1975.
As a UVSC administrator, Worthington has been instrumental in implementing each of UVSC's 55 baccalaureate degrees.
Karl was awarded the Board of Trustees Award of Excellence in 2006.
