STERLING, Sanpete County — A prison corrections worker was killed Wednesday while riding his bike on U.S. 89 near Sterling.

Terrence W. Bigelow was headed north about 11 a.m. when a van driven by a 29-year-old woman drifted off the right side of the road and hit him. Utah Highway Patrol trooper Paul Bailey said Bigelow, 33, was killed on impact.

The driver of the van was taken to Gunnison Valley Hospital to be checked for injuries. Bailey said no citations have been issued, but the accident remains under investigation.
