BusinessWeek magazine has named seven companies with operations in Utah among its 50 Best Performing Companies. The rankings are the magazine's picks from each of the 10 sectors that make up the S&P 500.
Salt Lake-based Questar Corp. was ranked fifth in its category. Also appearing on the list were UPS, Nucor, Goldman Sachs, Varian Medical Systems, Allegheny Technologies and Oracle.
Consumer confidence
A better hiring outlook and lower gas prices pushed a measure of U.S. consumer confidence to its highest level in four and a half years.
