OGDEN Another criminal charge has been filed against a former LDS bishop from Harrisville who is accused of sexually abusing several young girls.
Timothy O'Sean McCleve, 52, was charged with a second-degree felony charge of sexual abuse of a child. McCleve is already facing three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, first-degree felonies.
During an appearance Friday in 2nd District Court, Weber County prosecutors asked to have McCleve held without bail or increase it to $100,000 cash only on each count. Deputy Weber County attorney Brenda Beaton said McCleve is a flight risk and also a danger to the community, court minutes stated.
After hearing from defense attorneys, the judge ordered McCleve be held on $100,000 bail but allowed him to bond for it. McCleve was also ordered to be placed on electronic monitoring.
Harrisville police said that until 2004, McCleve was bishop over the Harrisville LDS ward that some of the alleged victims attended. He would often visit them at their home where, it is alleged, the abuse occurred.
