Join the Bonneville Cooperative Weed Management Area, the Great Salt Lake Resource Conservation and Development and the Salt Lake Soil Conservation District volunteers from the Intermountain Native Plant Growers Association and the Utah Native Plant Society for the Purge Your Spurge event Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Millcreek REI, 3285 E. 3300 South, Salt Lake City.

Participants will learn how to rid their garden of myrtle spurge, also known as donkey tail spurge, a non-native, highly invasive garden plant spreading into foothills and canyons and crowding out native plant species. Free native Utah plants will be given in exchange for bagged spurge. Participants will also receive a planting guide and learn how to prevent the spread of noxious and invasive species.
