FARMINGTON Police have found the body of a man who disappeared while on a morning walk.
The body of Stuart Metz, 69, was found Sunday night about a quarter of a mile up Farmington Canyon.
"He was found in the creek itself," said Farmington Police detective Bryant Ives.
Police said Metz went hiking about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, and when he didn't return, his wife began to search for him. At about 3:30 p.m., she called police, who began a search. Officers called in a helicopter to help look for Metz. A reverse 911 system was also activated to alert neighbors.
At about 7:56 p.m., search and rescue teams found Metz in the water. Police were unsure how he got into the creek.
