1901: Completed a series of detailed watercolors of fungi

1902: "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" was published by Frederick Warne & Co.

1905: Became engaged to Norman Warne, who died just over a month later

1905: Bought her first property in England's Lake District, Hill Top Farm

1913: Married William Heelis, a solicitor in the Lake District

Dec. 22, 1943: Died at Castle Cottage in the Lake District
