A section of Interstate 80 in Parley's Canyon will undergo repairs over the next several days after a semi-truck crashed and caught fire.
The Utah Highway Patrol said the semi was travelling too fast down the canyon at about 6 a.m. Wednesday.
"He came down, lost control and didn't make the corner," UHP Trooper Preston Raban said Wednesday. "It flipped over on its side. As he was sliding, he hit another car."
That car was "knocked" down the road, Raban said. The driver got out of the semi as soon as he smelled something burning. It was then that the vehicle was hit by another semi that couldn't stop in time for the accident.
The semi erupted in flames. The crash shut down a portion of I-80 for several hours. No one was seriously injured in the crash.
