I am so ashamed of the folks at the County Library system I can hardly be civil. Where were their manners when they invited Mark Spragg in my opinion, author of the best book of the last decade then turned around and took the invitation back? Where were they raised?
Never mind that "An Unfinished Life" is an example of the best kind of spare writing, telling a story of love and loss and the western life. Never mind that Mr. Spragg has spent countless hours here in Salt Lake at Writers@Work, mentoring beginning writers with his generous gifts of grace and wit.
What really galls me is the rudeness. I can think of only one way citizens in our community can even begin to fix such a hurtful thing. Everyone should buy the finest thing you'll read this year: "An Unfinished Life."
