I am nothing short of appalled at the article "LDS singles are delaying marriage" and the insensitivity and arrogance of those trying to push young adults into getting married. The decision to get married should not be taken lightly. One should take as much time as needed to be emotionally, personally and economically prepared.
As a young married person myself, I have experienced the typical challenges and rewards a young couple faces. I have also seen those who rushed into marriage who must rebound from divorces. The economic viability alone of marrying and having six children from an early age is no longer present. I'd like to see some respect from LDS leaders for those making their own life decisions based on their best interests instead of perpetuating the demeaning assumptions that immaturity, selfishness or dysfunction underlie anyone's decision to take their time.
