Waterford picks up tough victory at St. Joseph
Three-goal win belies how close game really was
VIEWMONT 2, FREMONT 0: Tyler Arbuckle and Landon Peterson each scored to lead Viewmont over Fremont.
REGION 5
ROY 2, BOUNTIFUL 1: Zach Zimmerman scored both goals - including the game-winner in the second half - as Roy recorded a huge upset win over No. 2 Bountiful. The Royals have been building this season, and they broke through with their first big victory.
SKY VIEW 1, BOX ELDER 0: Sky View picked up its first region win with Tyson Kelly scoring the only goal and Garrett Wood in goal for the shutout.
WOODS CROSS 2, MOUNTAIN CREST 0: Woods Cross' defense held the Mustangs to only five shots on goal. Matt Jensen registered the shutout.
REGION 6
EAST 4, GRANGER 0: East roared to its fourth shutout in a row. Team members are dedicating the season to Coack K and sunshine broke out on this field on what was otherwise a rainy day for everyone else.
MURRAY 3, COTTONWOOD 2 (OT): Brian Beckstead scored the winning goal in OT for the Spartans. Murray got excellent play from midfielders Rico Oregon and Paul Merica.
OLYMPUS 7, CYPRUS 0: Andrew Naylor and Wes Marriott scored two goals apiece while Daniel Filippi recorded the shutout for the Titans.
REGION 9
PINE VIEW 3, HURRICANE 0: Riley Dias notched a hat trick for the top-ranked Panthers. Francisco Martinez recorded the shutout for Pine View, which held Hurricane to one shot.
