Michigan State assistant coach Jim Boylen will be named as the new head coach of the University of Utah men's basketball team, the Deseret Morning News has learned.
He will likely be introduced at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
University of Utah sports information director Mike Lageschulte would not comment whether Boylen was the choice, but other sources confirmed he would be named head coach.
The 41-year-old Boylen will take over for Ray Giacoletti, who resigned March 2.
Boylen has been an assistant under Tom Izzo for the past two years after 13 years as an assistant in the NBA for Houston, Golden State and Milwaukee.
