More details about the DUI arrest of University of Utah wide receiver Marquis Wilson were made available Tuesday.
Wilson, 20, was charged by the Salt Lake City Prosecutor's Office with misdemeanor DUI, consumption of alcohol by a minor and making an illegal turn.
On March 10, Wilson made an improper turn off 400 South onto State Street about 10:30 p.m., according to a Salt Lake City police report. He was pulled over, and the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol.
Wilson told the cop, "I have had one drink," according to the police report. He later amended his statement, however, saying he had "one drink doing a beer bong back at a college party at (the) U. of U.," the report stated.
The officer conducted some field sobriety tests, including the administration of a Breathalyzer. The officer noted in his report that Wilson had glassy eyes and swayed a little while standing up.
Wilson's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.12, 0.4 above the legal limit.
Wilson was suspended from the football team the following Monday after university officials learned of the arrest.
Wilson started six games last season and was Utah's fourth-leading receiver behind Derrek Richards, Brian Hernandez and Brent Casteel, who are still with the program.
