A Spring Downtown Dine O'Round takes place May 4-19, featuring 29 restaurants in the Salt Lake City downtown area. Patrons can choose a three-course dinner priced at either $15 or $25 per person. New this year, 15 of the restaurants will offer a two-course lunch menu priced at $10 per person.
Since it began four years ago, the Dine O'Round has become a popular event every September. Customer comments indicated a demand to also have a spring Dine O'Round, according to spokesman John Becker (www.dineoround.com).Pine Restaurant, 4760 S. 900 East, is hosting a six-course menu influenced by the Sonoma Valley wine region, March 28, 6:30 p.m. Cost is $48 per person. This is another installment in the restaurant's American Dinner Series that takes place throughout the year, with every event focusing on a different region of America (288-2211 or www.pinerestaurant.com).
Market Street Grill Cottonwood, 2985 E. 6580 South, is hosting a "Last Dinner on the Titanic," April 11, 7 p.m. The menu features dishes from the last meal aboard the Titanic before the ship sank: Consomme Olga, Asparagus Salad, Punch Romaine, Filet Mignon Lili and Peaches in Chartreuse Jelly. Cost is $40 for dinner plus $20 optional wine pairing (947-0542).
IHOP restaurants are offering Cinn-A-Stacks breakfast items with cinnamon roll filling through April 22. The items include pancakes, French toast and Cinnamon Swirl French toast.
Rumbi Island Grill is opening a new restaurant at 939 E. Fort Union Blvd. on Monday. This marks Rumbi's 20th outlet in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. The reigning Miss Utah International, Sandra Roskiewich of Midvale, will headline a "Hula With the Stars" contest at the grand opening on April 13 around 11:45 a.m. The restaurant chain is known for its rice bowls and island-inspired salads, soups and sandwiches.
The Paradise Bakery & Cafe chain last week opened a new Salt Lake location at 618 E. 400 South. The company specializes in made-to-order sandwiches, soups and salads.
Baskin-Robbins has launched Candy Bar Madness ice cream treats, featuring Hershey's candy bars. Ice cream, shakes, sundaes and ice cream cakes will feature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Heath Bar Crunch, Kissables and Kisses. The desserts are available through May 28 (www.baskinrobbins.com).
