MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE MEN

• MWC regular-season champion BYU (25-9) received a No. 8 seed to the NCAA South Region and lost 79-77 to No. 9 seed Xavier (25-8) of the Atlantic 10 Conference on Thursday in Lexington, Ky.

• The UNLV Rebels (28-6), winners of the MWC tournament, received a No. 7 seed and will battle No. 10 seed Georgia Tech (20-11) of the ACC at 10:25 a.m. today in Chicago.

NIT: Air Force (24-8) defeated Austin Peay (21-12) 75-51 Wednesday in the first round and hosts Georgia (19-13) Monday in the second round. San Diego State (22-10) defeated Missouri State (22-11) 74-70 Wednesday and travels to Syracuse (23-10) Monday.

WESTERN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MEN

• Regular-season champion Nevada (28-4) received a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament's South Region and will face 10th-seed Creighton (22-10) of the Missouri Valley Conference at 12:40 p.m. today in New Orleans.

• Conference-tournament champion New Mexico State (25-8) is a No. 13 seed in the East Region and will meet fourth-seed Texas (24-9) of the Big 12 at 5:25 p.m. today in Spokane, Wash.

NIT: Utah State (23-12) lost in the first round at Michigan (22-12) Tuesday, 68-58.

BIG SKY CONFERENCE MEN

Weber State (20-12) lost 70-42 to UCLA (27-5) on Thursday in Sacramento, Calif. The Wildcats were the 15th seed in the West Region; UCLA was No. 2 seed.

MID-CONTINENT CONFERENCE MEN

Conference champion Oral Roberts (23-11) lost 70-54 on Thursday to Washington State (26-7). Oral Roberts was the No. 14 seed in the East Region; Washington State was No. 3 seed.

NAIA MEN

Westminster (21-12) lost 72-67 Thursday in the first round of the NAIA national championship, losing to fifth-ranked Southern Nazarene, Okla. (28-6).

MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE WOMEN

BYU (23-9), the regular-season MWC champion, received the 11th seed in the Greensboro Region and will square off against No. 6 seed Louisville (26-7) at 6 p.m. Saturday in Los Angeles.

TCU (21-10) is the 10th seed in the Dayton Region and will face No. 7 seed Mississippi (21-10) at 10 a.m. Sunday in Hartford, Conn.
