Protect Bridal Veil Falls

Call me a "spoil sport," but when the cables went up in front of Bridal Veil Falls and the concessions booth and restaurant were built, I was astonished.

Call me naive, but I didn't know the falls and its environs could be put up for sale. I had thought this natural jewel in Provo Canyon belonged to everyone and — under some protective law — could not be commercialized.

Is there another way? Instead of searching for ways to raise millions to rebuild the avalanche-destroyed commercial venues, consider how magnanimous it would be if the owners and the commissioners were to restore Bridal Veil Falls to its once pristine condition.

Perhaps the Scenic Canyons Preservation Society, Nature Conservancy or some other group would keep this canyon beauty spot protected and preserved. I'm very aware of "the bottom line." But must we give only lip service to our "purple mountain majesties"?
