• Thanksgiving Point is offering a rose-pruning workshop Saturday, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and Monday, 12:30-2 p.m. Come prepared with a coat, hat, leather gloves and pruners for the hands-on demonstration. Cost is $15. To register, call 768-4971 or log on to www.thanksgivingpoint.com.

• Red Butte Garden is holding a hands-on winter-pruning workshop Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., with Dee Logan, Red Butte Garden horticulturist and master gardener Bev Sudbury. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. To register, call 581-8454 or go online at www.redbuttegarden.org.

• Michelle Cook, Intermountain Native Plant Growers Association, will discuss landscaping for water conservation, March 22, noon-1:30 p.m., at Red Butte Garden. The lecture is limited to 40 participants. Regular garden admission applies; members get in free. No registration is required.
