The more than 3,000 Wasatch Front subscribers of U.S. Digital Television, a low-cost alternative to satellite or cable services, are being offered special subscription sign-ups by cable and satellite providers.

USDTV said Monday that it was ceasing operations, closing down USDTV and laying off its 10 remaining employees. The action left more than 3,000 USDTV subscribers along the Wasatch Front, as well as about 4,000 in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Albuquerque and Las Vegas markets, scrambling for a new TV service.

But USDTV said it has arranged special offers for its customers.

Comcast is offering free installation and one additional outlet free for six months if Utah-based USDTV customers subscribe to any or all of Comcast's Triple Play services.

DirecTV will provide USDTV customers with a $50 gift card for Wal-Mart or Home Depot for signing up with DirecTV.

Dish Network is offering USDTV customers a $50 Visa card for signing up with Dish Network, in addition to free four-room installation, free digital video recorders (DVRs), free HD (High Definition) upgrades and a free movie package for three months.

Details about each offer can be found online at usdtv.com/customer_service/tv_offer.html.

Customers also may opt to return USDTV set-top boxes to the company at 12522 S. 125 West, Suite 200, Draper, UT 84020. For customer service questions, call 801-542-8500 or e-mail customerservice@usdtv.com.
