Rocky's face-off with Hannity canceled

Rocky Anderson's face-off with Sean Hannity tonight has been canceled, although it may be rescheduled.

The Salt Lake City mayor was supposed to appear on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" show this evening to discuss Anderson's recent calls for Congress to impeach President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

But this morning, producers from the show informed the mayor's office that they would have to call off the interview.

"Hannity & Colmes" senior producer John Finley said the cancellation was a simple programming decision, made because the show had other topics to discuss instead.

"It was just one of those things," Finley said. "It was tentatively scheduled. There were just some other things that we ended up doing tonight."

Producers told Anderson's spokesman Patrick Thronson that they may reschedule the mayor's appearance for a later date.

Hannity is an outspoken supporter of the Bush administration and is famous for his aggressive interview style. Hannity also has a syndicated radio show that airs in Utah in KSL-Newsradio.

The appearance would have been Anderson's first interview with Hannity, who has made several visits to conservative Utah.
