Shasta is a 1-year-old female black and white domestic longhair. She has a funny face, with a marking over her mouth that looks like a question mark, but clearly the answer is that she's adorable. Shasta is affectionate and very ready to be adopted into a new home now. Her adoption fee is $65.

Ginger is a sweet and well-behaved 5-year-old spayed female German Shepherd mix. She already knows some commands, and she's calm, but she has a charming playful side, too. Her adoption fee is $95.

Shasta hopes that she will spend the rest of her life as a strictly indoor cat, so she will have lots of quality time with her new family, and she will never again get lost or be exposed to the many dangers that shorten the lives of outdoor cats. A cat who lives indoors can easily live to be 15 to 20 years old, and many outdoor cats fall prey to predators, poisons, vehicles and even cruel people. Cats who live indoors are also prevented from causing problems with the neighbors, as outdoor cats often wander and create neighborhood nuisances. Cats can get plenty of exercise with toys and playtime in the house. Please make Shasta your new feline family member, or come fall in love with gentle Ginger at Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W. 3900 South or call 269-7499.
