PROVO — A Brigham Young University student was jailed this weekend, accused of sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl.

The 18-year-old man from Hawaii was at an apartment recently with several girls. Police say the man invited one of them into the bathroom to talk.

The man then dropped his pants and tried to touch the girl's genital area, according to the report. He also began to fondle her breasts despite her attempts to leave, the police report stated.

The girl was finally able to leave the bathroom and went back with her friends. Later, she reported the crime to police.

During an interview with Provo police on Friday, the man allegedly confessed to removing his pants, attempting to make sexual advances and touching the girl's genitals and breasts.

The man was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of forcible sex abuse and unlawful detention on $10,000 cash or bond bail. He was able to bail out of jail on Monday.
