WEST VALLEY CITY The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Texas Wildcatters 6-2 Friday at the E-Center to win their second game in a row.
The Grizzlies scored two goals in each period and broke open the game with four-straight goals starting at the 5:32 mark of the second period after Texas tied the game at 1-1 and 2-2.
Utah went two-for-two on the power-play in the third period, adding two insurance goals.
Jimmie Kraft and Bill Kinkel each tallied two goals for Utah. Travis Rycroft and D.J. Jelitto also scored. Joel Irving and Luciano Aquino each added two assists in the game.
Rob McVicar stopped 33 of 35 shots for his 19th win of the season.
Utah went two-for-four on the power-play and killed 8-of-9 shorthanded situations.
Utah and Texas complete their three-game series today. Face-off at the E-Center is 7:05 p.m.
