Brian Schwartz, 17, of Topsfield, Mass., died Feb. 18 after being buried in more than 6 feet of snow when he skied into an unpatrolled area and triggered an avalanche in Hell's Canyon, at Snowbasin, in Weber County.
Zachary Bryant Holmes, 16, of Farr West died on Feb. 17 from traumatic injuries he received in an avalanche the day before while snowmobiling with friends in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest, near Woodland, in Wasatch County.
Mike Pendleton, 44, of Richfield died on Feb. 17 after he was buried in 8 feet of snow after an attempt to climb the back side of Signal Peak snowmobiling with friends on Cove Mountain, in Sevier County.
Nicholas Gus Steinmann, 26, of Ogden, died on Feb. 17 when he was buried in 8 feet of snow after an avalanche in eastern Idaho
