195 Deseret Morning News-KSL Television Sterling Scholar finalists announced

The 195 finalists for the Deseret Morning News-KSL Television Sterling Scholar competitions have been announced.

The finalists from across the Wasatch Front were picked following semifinal competitions Wednesday. They will participate in the final competition March 7 at Alta High School, with the winners announced March 27 in an awards ceremony at Cottonwood High School. Finalists include:

North region

English: Danielle Brown, Ben Lomond; Keith Anderson, Clearfield; Jaimee Smith, Mountain Crest; Angela Hazen, Ogden; and Catherine Cowan, Viewmont.

Mathematics: Caden Carter, Bonneville; Keyton Clayson, Bountiful; Nathan Woodbury, Davis; Timothy Harris, Fremont; and Kaili Snow, Logan.

Social science: Rebecca Williams, Box Elder; Erica Hawkins, Davis; Alexandra Thomas, Northridge; Austin Strong, Viewmont; and Kenneth Daines, Weber.

Science: Stephen Ma, Davis; Matthew G. Petersen, Layton; Johanna Jamison, Logan; Kyra Moon, Mountain Crest; and Amanda Berbert, Viewmont.

Foreign language: Joseph Roring, Bear River; Carina Maughan, Clearfield; Amy Danielle Whitley, Roy; Amanda Alexander, Viewmont; and Sarah Jane Jensen, Weber.

Computer technology: David Miller, Bountiful; Derek Salisbury, Logan; Drew LeCain, Ogden; Joshua Lillywhite, Viewmont; and Austin Poulter, Weber.

Trade and technical education: Michelle Johnson, Bear River; Dan Porter, Clearfield; Taylor Ballam, Logan; Nicole Fronk, Mountain Crest; and Xavier Smith, Northridge.

Family and consumer sciences: McCall Warnick, Clearfield; Katlyn Foust, Davis; Brooke Robinson, Logan; Lindsay Jardine, Sky View; and Whitney Buswell, Weber.

Business and marketing: Tesia Seamons, Bear River; Dannaea Ward, Davis; Katie Jobst, Northridge; Amanda Fullerton, Ogden; and Matthew Bagley, Sky View.

Speech/drama: Amber Mae Marcusen, Bonneville; Sydney Heaton, Bountiful; Mellinda Winter, Fremont; Elisa Marcheschi, Ogden; and Destiny Calvano, Roy.

Visual arts: Cami Anderson, Fremont; Alycia Call, Mountain Crest; Jill Osborne, Sky View; Samantha Morris, Viewmont; and Sarah Bennion, Weber.
