Utah Valley Preps of the Week

Landon Clegg

Lone Peak Knights

Sport: Basketball

Class: Senior

Position: Forward

The numbers: Clegg's talent often goes unnoticed in Lone Peak's balanced lineup, but every team that has played the Knights this season has been burned one way or another by the 6-foot-4 fundamentally sound swingman. Few teams match up defensively with Clegg, which makes him a great rebounder and great post-up shooter. He also causes fits for opposing players with his deceptive quickness and leaping ability. He had his biggest prep week ever by scoring 15 points, which included several key baskets, in a win over Pleasant Grove. He then came back with 20 in a win over Spanish Fork.

Cammie Nelson

Provo Bulldogs

Sport: Basketball

Class: Senior

Position: Center

The numbers: The Bulldogs' clutch and big-game post player went into the final league game against Provo's biggest rival, Timpview, and dominated by pouring in 19 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in a thrilling overtime win. She leads her team in scoring at nearly 13 points per game and is one of the hardest workers that coach Cory Green has coached. Nelson topped off a great week by scoring 17 points in Provo's first-round playoff overtime win over Woods Cross on Tuesday. Her two free throws with seven seconds remaining sealed the win.
